2018 PRESENTERS:
Natalia Katalenas Lord, DVM, will discuss stallion, mare, and foal nutrition.
Michael Vermaas will offer give dressage and WE lessons for every level of rider ($75) on Friday. Michael has an impressive resume. He began giving riding instruction at age 18 and earned his British Horse Society credentials in only six months. While studying in Great Britian he trained a horse that was later was bought by Prince Phillip as an eventer. Listed on Sylvia Loch's website as one of the top 15 Classical Dressage trainers in the world, he has trained horses for the Saudi royal family and performed at the Salon du Cheval de Paris and Equitana.
Howard and Erica Peet have been a part of the horse world for over 22 years. Howard initially learned driving from Bruce Howare at The Park in California. He followed this with training halter horses under great Arabian horse trainers such as Keith Krichkie, Danny Burgren and Joe Polo. He also increased his western pleasure knowledge, from Jody Strand, and his saddle seat knowledge, from Bill Matton. 2006 through 2009, Howard and Erica worked as resident trainers for Rothrock Andalusians and partnered with Spanish Legacy Andalusians. Over those 4 years they earned a total of 51 National Grand Championships, 20 Reserve National Championships, and 4 Futurity Championships. In 2008, Erica was honored to be recognized by the IALHA who awarded her the Rookie Trainer of the Year award! The Peets will offer driving, in-hand, or saddle lessons ($75/private and group).
Sue King, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse and Jody Sydow, Foundation Board Member and owner of Silver Spurs Stables in Angelton, Texas will bring us up to date on Foundation news.
After a scrumptious pot luck lunch on Saturday, we will enjoy a schooling show (in hand, DSHB, dressage suitability classes) and a W.E. practice show, with ribbons to the winners! The Saturday event will end with a delicious catered dinner and time to visit with clinicians and your friends! Absolute deliciousness! Private and group lessons will be held Friday and Sunday. You may also play on the WE obstacles on Friday afternoon.
We ask that you bring something for a pot luck lunch on any day that you participate - Friday, Sat, and Sunday. A continental breakfast will be provided daily, and a catered dinner is planned for Saturday night. As usual, we will have a silent auction. Any donation would be greatly appreciated – horsey or non-horsey! Books, jewelry, tack, children’s items, clothes, riding apparel, goodies, treats, etc.
Because individual lessons with Michael and Howard and schooling show entries are limited due to space and time constraints, you are encouraged to register as soon as forms become available.
