We Are Moving!

To better Serve our Members, the Directors have approved a move to California from New Mexico. The building owned by The Foundation that has housed our offices for many years is in escrow with a closing date in mid-March. The movers are packing our files, historical documents, books, paintings, statuary, show material, exhibitions, and all the data we have collected for these 21 years.  We expect to have our new offices set up and running in Southern California by the end of March.

In the meantime, you can still reach us at our established office number (505.294.0800) as well as through all the emails on our website for our Officers and Directors.  We are also conducting business as usual through our computers.  If you are ordering any of our merchandise, there will be a slight delay until we can unpack, but if you need the item for a special occasion, please let us know and we will make a special effort to get it to you on time!

Keep watching our website for our new address and photos of The Foundation ready to serve our Members and Friends of the Pure Spanish Horse.

Survey Starts Today

As promised in our last newsletter, The Foundation will begin the process of asking your opinion on various subjects so that we can set our programs for 2019 and 2020 to best suit your interests.

We look forward to responses from our Readers, Members, P.R.E. Owners and Aficionados. If you see that there are questions that aren’t being asked, please let Barbara Currie know (Barbara.Currie@prehorse.org) and we will add those questions into subsequent surveys.

Surveys can be accessed on our website from a link on the home page. One click on that link will take you through to each set of survey questions and, in approximately two weeks, the results.  We look forward to your participation.  This will help us to better serve you and enjoy our P.R.E. Horses. Thank You.

Cría Caballar Exhibition

On February 9, the Cría Caballar Military Breeding Center of Éjica Held a Stallion Presentation for the 2019 Breeding Season.

The event, which was attended by more than 600 people, most of them breeders, consisted of an exhibition of horses in the barracks’ Courtyard of Arms, in which, for about an hour, stallions of different breeds were presented in hand, with antique carriages, and ridden by personnel of the Military Center.  Students of the Employment Workshop “Moratalla” participated in the presentation of stallions at the Military Center for breeding of Écija.

The day continued with the visit of the personnel assisting in the stables where they could see up close the rest of the stallions and tour the collection of carriages of the Historical Heritage of the Ministry of Defense.

The public breeding locations of Cáceres, Andújar, Badajoz and Córdoba will reveal a total of forty-three stallions of different breeds (P.R.E., Rá, Aa, Ha, CDE, PSI, and asses) over the next 65 days, including the permanent public breeding location in the same barracks at La Doma.  In 2018 the breeding locations deployed by this Military Center of Cría Caballar of Écija, covered about 1,200 mares.

Presiding over the event was Lieutenant Colonel Chief of the Center, D. Juan Manuel López Rodríguez, accompanied by the Colonel Delegate for the Defense of Andalusia, the Colonel Subdelegate of Defense of Córdoba, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Córdoba, as well as representatives of Breeder Associations.

Alexa Chappelet Flagler

Alexa Chappelet Flagler is the new owner of Garbosa RM!  It was a match made in heaven when Alexa and her huge heart looked into the eyes of this shy mare and knew that there was a gentle heart waiting to love and be loved. Alexa has been working daily with this magnificent mare to bring out the jewel that exists inside.  Alexa has given Garbosa awareness that humans are wonderful sources of fun, cookies, exercise and hugs.  And, in the process, Garbosa has welcomed Alexa into the world of P.R.E. Aficionados.  Welcome, Alexa!
