Awesome Andalusian World Cup! PLEASE NOTE CORRECTIONS TO THE PLACEMENTS.
Kudos to Kevin Kidder on the Success of the 2018 Andalusian World Cup! With activity in three rings and over 700 total class entries it was hard to keep up. The Spanish Morphology and Functionality Classes were judged by José Ramón Fdez. Villegas, and Fco. Javier Piqué Ángel for a total of 82 class entries. The Placements for Senior Stallions Seven Years and Older are as follows: First Place/Gold Medal: Jalapeño de Trujillo II, owned by Yeguada Valencia, bred by Yeguada Vilaire. Second Place/Silver Medal: Distinguido Trunillo, owned by Yeguada del Real Castillo bred by Yeguada Trujillo. Third Place/Bronze Medal: Desafio SF, Bred by Yeguada Centruiron owned by Oak Hill. Fourth Place: Nemo de Vida II, owned Rancho Los Naranjo breed by Yeguada Villanueva Dacasa. Fifth Place: Talmud, owned by David Castaneda bred by Francisco Arenas Bermudez. Judges were Michael Vermaas PDf, S,Q – USA, Juan Jose Del Valle of Mexico, and André Ganc of Brazil. The Masters Division winner was Verdilhao owned by Marilyn Hite and ridden by Carlos Carnerio who took first place in all three phases of the Competition with three beautifully executed rides. The Foundation was represented by our Booth as well as on the floor by Foundation President Maria O’Brien chatting joyfully with ANCCE President, Spanish Judges and Delegates as well as Breeders. Our Executive Director, Sue King, was busy selling Raffle Tickets and diligently answering questions about the Foundation as well as the details of Revision and where to get more information. In addition to the Foundation Booth, the Vendor Area was crowded with familiar faces, the Iberian Connection Tack Shop, DP Saddles, USPREA, Hearts & Hoofs, Farnum, Rancho del Lago, the local Los Vegas Toyota Dealer, and many other fine tack and apparel vendors. Erica Peet was there working on the final segment of her Qualifying Test to be a Working Equitation Judge. Competitors are looking forward to showing under her watchful eye as we are certain she will be a knowledgeable and fair Official. You can see photos of the action from all the Classes including Dressage and Rail Classes on the Andalusian World Cup Site - HERE. These results have been corrected and appended from the published results at http://www.concursosancce.com/public/concurso/2018043/?s=12 |
Preliminary Report on US OPEN Celebration
First, Thank you to all who who helped make this show possible. Special thanks goes out to Janita Smith, President of IALHA, Howard Peet, Show Chairman for IALHA and the entire IALHA organization. The Foundation classes had twenty-eight entries in 14 classes. This is close to double the entries in Spanish Classes held at the IALHA Nationals last year. A very encouraging trend for our breed. Not only was the general attendance good, the quality of the horses was excellent. We have just returned from the show and don't want to miss the current Newsletter deadline by any more days. We will have a FULL SHOW REPORT in the November issue of the Newsletter. This report will include Class Placements, photos and links to the professional photographer site as well as any on-site reports from Barb Clark who coordinated, Mercedes Gonzalez Cort who was the judge, Sue King our Executive Director and any IALHA input. Thank You to all our Show Sponsors, to Maria MaCarty who rewrote the rules, Barb Clark who contributed in so many ways both financially and of her time, Barbara Currie who is steadfast in her support of the Foundation, Maria O’Brien whose leadership helped keep the Show on track, Jody Sydow for her multiple generosities and excellent culinary and entertainment skills, and so many more of you who participated and contributed. Again, THANK YOU! |

Update on Devota ... So Nice When There’s a Happy Ending!
The Foundation received a lovely note from Mr. & Mrs.Terry Preszler, the couple who purchased Devota (the undersaddle mare donated to us by Cameron English).
“Just thought I would drop you a note and photo of my wife on Devota.
Devota has far exceeded my wife's expectations; Devota and Cindie have created a fantastic partnership and affection for each other. The Pure Spanish Horse is truly an incredible animal. I would like to express my wife's and my own appreciation to Cameron English of Lionheart Pure Spanish Horses for donating Devota to the Foundation and to Ami MacHugh for providing free of charge the shipping of Devota from Texas to Washington State, Devota's new home. From the fortunate husband of a very happy wife." - Terry Preszler

Lionheart Pure Spanish Horses
Cameron English may have a new emerging career as a movie star!! (See photos below.) Uncharacteristically he will be playing the bad guy in a sequel to the movie "C-Bar". The original is an independent film with fantastic reviews on IMDb. READ REVIEWS HERE Based on the books "The C-Bar Story Volumes 1-2” by Mark Baugher it was released in 2015. VIEW BOOKS HERE. The Author is a Master Farrier from Northern Arizona who works a small rancho near the headwater of the Verde River. Filming for the sequel starts in October 2018 but the original is available on several venues including Amazon Prime Video with trailers on YouTube. This one looks to become a cult classic, so check it out! |
